London-born singer, writer and multi-instrumentalist Joe Cang, released his first solo album after being signed by Clive Davis to Arista Records. He has toured, recorded and written with Ian Dury, Scritti Polittie, K.T. Tunstall, Desmond Dekker, Hall and Oates, Marianne Faithfull, Hugh Masakela, Leona Lewis, and Aswad – with whom he wrote the million seller hit “Shine”
Joe has just completed recording a new album at the vintage State of the Ark studios in London with Jerry Boys [Buena Vista Social Club] which is eagely awaited by Radio 2 where the single ‘Make Love’ was played extensively by Terry Wogan, Janice Long and Sarah Kennedy.
The video for ‘Bella Signorina’, made with artist Rebecca Nassauer, has been chosen for both the London and New York short film festivals.
Full of light and shade, the album is both uplifting and reflective, classic and timeless.
Joe’s band includes some of the cream of London’s musicians. Collectively they have worked with Bette Midler, Eric Clapton, Humphrey Lyttleton, Amy Winehouse, Stan Tracy, James Morrison, Diana Krall, Zero 7, Jazz Crusaders, Omar and Michael Buble and are performing throughout Europe playing their unique blend of new classic jazz with a strong hint of blues.
