London born Singer, writer and multi-instrumentalist Joe Cang, released his first solo album after being signed by Clive Davis to Arista records. He has toured, recorded and written with Ian Dury, Scritti Politti, K.T.Tunstall, Desmond Dekker, Hall and Oates, Marianne Faithfull, Hugh Masekela, Leona Lewis and Aswad!
Named by the ‘Evening Standard’ as “One of London’s great singers and songwriters”, Joe made a huge impact on national radio last year with his super catchy plea to “Make Love” which Radio 2 took to its heart. It was playlisted for 5 weeks, and Chris Evans drew comparisons with the likes of Paolo Nutini and Amy Winehouse, winning him fans all over the UK.
He followed it up by releasing his long awaited new album “Bed”, which is a stunning collection of observations of life and love. Each track showcases Joe’s distinctive rich vocals over his unique blend of new classic jazz-flavoured blues & soul.
The video for “Bella Signorina”, made with artist Rebbeca Nassauer, was chosen for both the London and New York short film festivals in 2011.
This summer, Joe is releasing his version of the million selling hit single “Shine” that he co-wrote with Aswad. This track became an annual radio anthem back in the ‘90’s and Joe has resurrected his classic in truly epic style – infusing his own infamous cocktail of styles into the mix. The result is sure to make “Shine” a surefire summer hit in 2012. The video has already been chosen to be used for the Mohammed Ali exhibition at Formans Fish Island to tie in with the Olympics. Joe will be performing with his band at the VIP launch on the rooftop!
Along with the original mix, three remixes are going out to the clubs by Seamus Haji, Cutmore and Full Intention. These versions will be hitting all the clubs from London to Ibiza and beyond.
Joe is currently performing with his all star band throughout the UK and Europe.
